Rasika - Indian restaurant in downtown Washington.

Tourists and locals never pass by this restaurant. Beautiful kitchen with traditional Indian spicy in addition to Indian beer or American wine is required for wine tasting in the U.S. capital.

The interior is dark, here you can hide from daylight and easy to eat on the menu: salads, steaks, lamb, vegetables iris, but lavishly seasoned with spices. So the waiter should warn about their preferences.
Prices are a little above average, the service quick, the table should be reserved on the website.
Address: 633 D St NW, Washington D.C.

Wouldn't normally think about dessert at an Indian place. But finish your excellent meal with the date toffee cake, gulab jamun, and kulfi.

Rasika in Penn Quarter could easily rest on its considerable laurels, but instead improves on what it does by every year adding fresh reasons to drop in.

The sleek décor, the glamorous crowd, the inventive dishes–we love it all. Also, this is a great place for vegetarians, given the range of veggie stews, chutneys, and dumplings on the menu.

Rasika's sev batata puri is the real deal. The crispy little rounds of bread are topped with potato, sour raw mango and crunchy threads of fried chickpea batter.

You have to try the Palak Chaat. Crispy spinach / sweet yoghurt / tamarind / date chutney.
