Barberini Palace (Palazzo Barberini)

It is a palace of the Barberini family. It was built by the order of Maffeo Barberini, who became Pope Urban VIII, - Pope urban VIII in the period from 1627 to 1633.
Today, the National Gallery of Ancient Art is located at Barberini Palace, which was established in 1893. It one of the most significant collection of paintings in Italy featuring the works by Raphael, Caravaggio, and Hans Holbein. The palace also houses the Italian Institute of Numismatics.

    Worth dealing with the rude staff to see the great art selection. Bring coins-bag check requires 1 euro which no one will give you change for. Also some areas may be closed if they are understaffed.
