Earlier the most loaded port of the USA and the fish market was at the place of the South-Street-Seaport area, and before the construction of the bridge the ferry was departing from this place - the only way to be transported to Brooklyn. Today, South Street Seaport - is a historical area of the seven districts. The western part consists of pedestrian streets with restaurants, boutiques and galleries. In the eastern part three piers remained, on two of which is a museum of sailing ships of South-Street-Seaport.
