Dominique Ansel Bakery - the coffee and pastry bar of the chef Dominic Ancel.
Though this cafe has been opened not so long ago it is worth visiting. Its chef is well-known in the whole world for inventing kronat. This is a croissant and a donut in one product. The secret of making it is guarded strictly. This cafe is not so easy to get in. The line starts at 7 am and you will have to stand for an average of 1.5 hours. And you can buy only 2 kronats on hands. The stuffing and glazing of a kronat changes every month and only one kind is sold during entire month. Besides kronats they sell other sweet desserts. Its staff is friendly and welcoming.

Decided to pre-order cronuts to skip a big queue although, as I found out later, queuing for food in New York is fun and just adds more excitement to the whole experience. The May flavour was sweet... read full review

First day, went around 2pm and they were sold out of Cronuts :(

Dominique Ansel left Daniel Boloud’s restaurant Daniel to start his own bakery in Soho, and has since gained a following for his decadent mini-meringues and freshly baked to order madeleines.
