It is one of the oldest Royal parks of London in the City of Westminster, central London. The park lied in the territory of hunting grounds of Henry VIII and was named after a leper hospital dedicated to St. James the Less. On James I's accession to the throne in 1603, he ordered that the park be drained and landscaped, and exotic animals kept in the park, including camels, crocodiles, and an elephant, as well as exotic birds kept in aviaries.
Today, over 30 species of birds live here, which includes a resident colony of pelicans, swans, ducks, etc. Beginning from 5 a.m. until midnight St. James Park is open to the public. The park features playgrounds for children and picnic places. There's a rumor that the Royal Family uses to choose St. James's Park for a picnic.

Very green park, easy to walk around and view the many statues of famous folks, e.g., Ghandi, A.Lincoln, etc. The flowers, ducks, and geese all add to the beauty of the place. read full review
