Its height of 135 metres (nearly a 45-storied building) offers the highest public viewing point in London. The London Eye was designed by different architects and the husband-and-wife team of Julia Barfield and David Marks. It took six years to complete the project.

Your best time to ride the eye is when the weather is clear, and the city's not socked in with fog.
