It is an interesting fact that Buckingham Palace has its own chapel, post office, swimming pool, staff cafeteria, doctor's surgery and cinema.

Home of Queen Elizabeth ll, Buckingham Palace was also the site of 2011's most talked about kiss, a post-wedding smooch between Prince William, Duke of Cambridge & Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

As the home of the Queen, the palace is usually closed to visitors, but you can view the interior for a brief period each summer while the Windsors are away on their holidays.

Buckingham Palace has been the Queen's official residence since 1837 (when Queen Victoria decided St James's Palace, just down the road, was too small and unimpressive).

Don't miss the official residence of the queen. Remember that this is only open for tourists during summer. Even if can't go inside, but the view of the gardens from the outside is already enough.
