The Planty Park (Planty)

Planta - is a park ring in Krakow, which is the natural boundary of the Old Town. The park was founded in the early 19th century on the ruined city walls that surround the city in the period from the 13th to the 15th century. The total area makes 21 hectares, and the circular length is 4 kilometers. The Krakow architect Felix Radvanska became the initiator of creation of this park zone.
At the moment, the park can be divided into 8 sections: Wawel Yaggelonsky University, the Palace of Arts, Florianka, Barbikan, Gmina Gródek, Station and Strada. The park is also rich with cultural and architectural works of art, including the monuments to famous people, the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary Loving, the fountain, military necropolis, the Chapel of St. Gertrude and others.
It is worth noting that not only the Planta pays our attention to the objects of art but they themselves have been the object of creativity for many artists and poets. The park is planted with more than 10,000 different trees, as well as equipped with alleys, flower beds.

Парк вокруг стен старого города. Старые тенистые деревья. Есть фонтанчики. Красиво в любое время года

Nice gardens around the old town, worth a walk through if you're in the area. Very pretty in winter after snow.

Ring of green that seperates historic old town from the rest of the city
